Maybe I'm just feeling nostalgic or just complaining about nothing, but I remember a time where zombies were actual walking corpses, as opposed to random pedestrians covered in dirt and blood that just run around making snarling noises.

I believe zombies are now used to illustrate a lost of humanity so that's why they look more human to show that the characters are killing people.

Your not wrong, its now all this rage zombie craze that I'll admit was great at first but has now quick degrading into a cliche of its own. Personally I find the Walking Dead is the only series to get the balance right.

i watched a certain zombie movie where zombies ran after you, i was like, what the hell, aren't they supposed to be slow?, next i saw some other zombie movies, they barely looked dead... so i went back to the movie that made me love zombies to begin with...

the remake of "Night of the Living Dead", now that was a zombie movie i could live with n.n

I think it's to make the spread of zombies more logical if you saw a green guy without an arm you would shoot them likely if not because of zombies because of fear but a slightly pale guy would be that odd people would think he was emo and the speed is to make them more threatening if they walked so slow the infection or voodoo would have more trouble spreading.
