Ah I think I understand how it's done, I know i've seen people take pictures of things use the wand tool to isolate areas and add those parts to layers and color blend them if you've ever seen the metroid speedpainting on youtube it is awesome! By the way how've you been? I've been trying to keep up with the people I watch from time to time XD but I know since I read that one journal i've been wondering if you've been keeping your spirits up and not letting things bother you?
No prob! While I don't believe I suffer chronic depression for the longest time I believed I couldn't achieve things which is kind of worse than losing interest or wearing down over working on various ideas. If I could go back in time about 3 years and tell myself then that I would eventually become competent in art I wouldn't believe it.
Now i'm just a rather slow worker not motivated XD but anywho the important thing to know is these things pass in time. Your big break in popularity came from doing funny, witty fanworks that's now evolved which is fantastic! Though I hope you go back to some of your old ideas and maybe redesign your old OC Carmen and I would love to see more lilith art I'm tempted to do my own spin on her if I can be assed to do a completed work XD
To be honest..the "DRAW A GOOMBA" Contest/Challenge was just a weird idea i had Monday morning at lunch ..it was just there..i said "GOOOMBA" loud to my girlfriend..she looked at me with big eyes and though i look crazy and did not know what to say.
I went on saying..omg..let's do a draw a goomba" week on game-art-hq and so it happens. Did not expect that people like you would be inspired to draw more than a Goomba in sketch form but submissions like yours proved me very wrong
Bet you had a lot of fun drawing it, at least your take on the Goomba looks like it!
